2. If you are using a router, please open and/or forward both TCP port 6112 and TCP port 80 within their settings. If you are connecting to Guild Wars while on a campus or business network, please consult your network's administrator to verify that these ports are available.
How? I'm not that smart to understand what they mean with it.

I get this rarely now and then, seems to be some issue with the gw.dat - best thing to do is rename gw.dat to something else e.g. gw.bad and then reinstall from the DVD, then try it.
If it works you can delete the gw.bad (it was only for backup)
You will need to redownload the updates which might take a while, though you can save loading time by appending " -image" to your GW shortcut/target section, to force it to download all the bits it needs. Then remove the " -image" bit and run it as normal, you'll find zones load faster then.
Are you using a Netgear router by any chance?

Same problem here. Yesterday all was fine. Today only error 58's.
Checked router (linksys) settings, the suggested portforwarding rules by support are there.
Also checked the firewall settings on gw.exe and gwsetup.exe.
Maybe indeed time to reinstall gw. Else i don't know what it could be (on my side)

I am unable to login with code 058. I did not change any of my router's settings and normally I can play without problems.
I'm located in the Netherlands, connected via XS4ALL ADSL via the KPN network.
Update: 4th try it worked, I'm in now.
